The Mount Royal Hotel is one of my favourite spots to stay in Banff. This newly renovated gem is potentially the most centrally located place to stay in town! You’re steps away from shops, restaurants and nightlife all while having access to world class amenities at your fingertips.

Comfortable Rooms
Each room is quite spacious with modern and updated finishings. I love the patterned headboards and overall décor – they’ve managed to keep everything clean and modern while paying homage to the architecture and history of the hotel itself.
The rooms feature great amenities like a mini fridge and Nespresso machines! I’m also a huge fan of hotels with great linens, plush pillows and comfy beds.
What’s really great about the rooms is the view of the mountains. No matter what side of the hotel you’re on, you’re sure to get a scenic look at the Rockies! Want to catch some extra sleep? The room features blackout drapes, too!
Our room overlooked the main road – we were able to look at both the stunning mountain views and watch the hustle and bustle of the town below.
I love a historic hotel but don’t want to settle for an outdated bathroom. How pretty is this penny tile? (P.S. who doesn’t love a makeup mirror like this?!)
There’s also plenty of storage for your clothing (for formal wear or longer stays) and plush robes for you to use while you’re visiting!
Unbeatable Rooftop Terrace
The terrace level of the Mount Royal Hotel features a rooftop hot tub, a snack bar with tons of seating, a game room area and a rooftop patio with fireplace. What’s unbeatable about this spot is the breathtaking views. Whether you’re in the hot tub, on the patio or sitting by the fire, they’ll wow you.
This is why the Mount Royal Hotel rooftop terrace is one of my favorite spots to be!

The lobby serves as a great meeting place or spot to relax by the fire! There’s also a bar and a restaurant on this level so you don’t ever have to leave the property!
The hotel also features a library, business centre and shop where you can purchase snacks and souvenirs.
