When most people think of art prints and framed photography, they think of gallery walls and picture rails. What I want to share in this post are ways for you to decorate with framed artwork by looking beyond the wall. I love to decorate with art prints and framed photography all around my house. I hope that you read this and feel inspired to add some pops of art into your spaces! The best part? I’m sharing a discount code at the bottom for Poster Store!
Artwork On a Bookshelf
I love to have more than just books on a bookshelf. For me, especially in my home office, this is a chance to create some cute “shelfies” and really show off my personality and interests. I love to use the open bookshelves behind my desk to display personal photos, mementos, cute boxes and trinkets that are special to me. I love being able to add in some art prints for added colour and texture. Being able to layer in art prints with my personal photos makes the decor feel a little more upscale, too! Artwork On a Side or Console Table
or Dresser
I find that people often struggle with decorating console tables, small tables or even tops of dressers in their homes. Art prints offer an easy solution. I often tell friends of mine to consider adding framed artwork behind stacks of books, vases and other personal or decorative items. The nice thing about art prints is that you can swap them out seasonally if you wish, or just when you get tired of them and want something new (without breaking the bank). I also find them to be a fun way to add a pop of colour. SHOP: Marble Wall Balcony Poster
Artwork On a Decorative Shelf
Not unlike decorating on a table, adding artwork to a decorative shelf offers the opportunity to add colour, personality and a nice backdrop. In this image I used a black and white print as a simple backdrop for blue glass vases. I love the simplicity of the script and the classic look it provides. SHOP: Marc Jacobs Poster
Artwork in Unexpected Spaces
Sometimes art prints can be fun (and helpful) in different places in your home. I never thought I would add artwork to my laundry room, but I couldn’t help myself when I found this super helpful chart! I don’t know many people who have these laundry symbols memorized, so to have them on hand (in a decorative way) to reference is super helpful! SHOP: Laundry Guide Print
Poster Store offers a ton of really stylish black and white prints that are perfect for kitchens, laundry spaces, coffee bars, home bars and bar carts, wine cellars and more! Here are some of my favourites:
