Book Review: “Find Your Extraordinary” by Jessica DiLullo Herrin
I was first drawn to this book because I have been a Stella&Dot stylist for many years and after seeing just how real of a person Jessica Herrin is and knowing a bit about her background, I knew this book was going to be great. Before I dive into what this book meant to me in more of a personal editorial, I want to mention that I think this is a must read for any woman, or really anyone.
The book’s subtitle of “Dream Bigger, Love Happier and Achieve Success on Your Own Terms” really does sum up what this book is about. The definitions of success, happiness and living an extraordinary life are different for each of us, and this book explores that very well.
What does “extraordinary” mean? By definition, it means “beyond what is usual, ordinary, regular, or established; exceptional in character, amount, extent, degree, noteworthy or remarkable.” But how do we get here?
This book really covers everything you need to lead an extraordinary life. It discusses the power of positive thinking, the entrepreneurial spirit, how to deal with guilt and judgement from others, how to make trade-offs, etc. It even covers “mother judgers” which I found to be quite interesting and useful.
In a world where women often tear one another down to climb higher, this book is a great tool for creating a tribe of supportive women around you.
Stay tuned for my personal editorial on how this book helped me to find my extraordinary! I hope it can do the same for you!
