I’m a huge fan of IKEA Cabinetry – so much so that I wrote an entire blog post about it! Their cabinetry products are high quality at a really affordable price point. I’ve used their cabinetry products in so many different areas in my home, but one thing that I’ve always felt really restricted by was the limited door colours and styles.
Like any other product, IKEA cabinet doors can be primed and painted, but that only works with certain styles and it still might not give you the look you’re going for. What about high gloss slab doors? You can’t change the colour of those with paint – you’re stuck to what they offer…or so you thought…

This is where Kitch comes in. Kitch is an amazing Canadian company that offers alternative door styles and colours specifically for IKEA kitchen and bathroom cabinetry. You can order their doors in shaker or slab style and in what feels like endless colour and style combinations.
What Kitch is offering is a balance between style and budget. We know that custom cabinetry is a huge cost for a kitchen or bathroom renovation. We also know that IKEA provides a fantastic product, but is sadly limited in style options. Kitch bridges the gap for you. What I’m saying is that if you have IKEA SEKTION kitchen cabinets or IKEA GODMORGON bathroom vanity cabinets, Kitch has over 100 door styles to choose from for these products.
Trying to decide between different colours and styles for your space? Order one of their sample boxes! What I love about these boxes is that they not only give you a colour sample for your space, but you can also get a feel for the material and the quality that they offer as well.
Unsure about pricing? Kitch provides example pricing on their website to give you an idea of what your project could cost (from a cabinetry perspective). Once you’ve decided on your kitchen plan, you can upload it to the Kitch website for a quote!
Floating Shelves
Need to finish the look? Kitch also offers floating shelves in a variety of finishes as well to compliment your design. I installed their walnut veneer shelves in my pantry. The finish matched the IKEA countertop that I installed and finished the look perfectly!
These shelves come in 10″ depths and lengths from 12″ to 72″ and in a number of stunning finishes (also available for preview in the sample box). They’re not just stylish shelves, either – they can hold up to 15 lbs per square foot so they’re super functional, too. I plan to use these in a few spaces in my home because of their quality and function.
